Open Studios 2016

All welcome. I'll be open all dates bar Sunday 12th. Apologies for the awful flyer...

Jackson's Open Art & Anagrams

April saw two artworks being selected for the Anagrams exhibition at Kingston Museum. 'The Walk' was selected for a Judges Prize.

I was also shortlisted for the inaugural Jackson's Open Art with a painting called 'High Season'. An on-line exhibition only so unfortunately no physical space to show it off. However some very good names on the list to keep me company.

Post Noise

Noise Rings came and went. A well attended and well received exhibition- thanks to all that came. Great to be back in Farnham.

2015 Highlights

Apologies for delayed updates and highlights. Not sure where the time has gone this year.

So a good year overall with being in the Griffin Gallery Open and the Neo Art Prize being stand out moments for me. A lot of new work made - some more successful than others but I'm happy with the current direction.

So 2016 brings a new website to launch and a small show at the Farnham Maltings in early February. Fingers crossed for more good news for the year ahead.

January news

After a busy 2014 I'm trying to maintain the momentum with exhibitions rolling through the dark nights into spring. I'm currently showing at The Baxter Gallery in Kingston as part of an ASC studios venture with Kingston Grammar School. Some of the recent large pieces to see there. Runs until February 19th.
March will see a group show at The Architects Gallery in Teddington. I haven't shown there for a couple of years so looking forward to that. Always a good opening night and handy to invite all those curious types from my kids school as well as more locally based friends and fans. I think it's linking in to LBRUT's Art House open studios and runs until July. More news on this soon.
Plenty of new work on the go in the studio. Updates soon.

October/November dates

I'll be showing at Affordable Art Fair Battersea with the newly formed JAMM gallery, a sister gallery to the highly regarded Bo Lee gallery. Looking forward to seeing how that goes and forging a good relationship with the gallery.
Starts next Wednesday 22nd through to the following Sunday.

November 7th sees the launch of my solo exhibition The Ice House at The Sanctuary in Northampton. I'llbe showing around 20 brand new, still wet, paintings and a dozen collages. The exhibition runs for a month.
More to follow.

September News

With the November Sanctuary Gallery exhibition preparation well under way and an appearance at the AAF at Battersea this October likely these are busy times. A dozen, mostly larger, new paintings are being worked on in rotation. Fingers crossed these will all be complete within the next 5 weeks.

A brief update:
The Sanctuary Gallery 20x20 show has ended and plans are in place for a solo show there in November.
Off to The Project Gallery in Arundel tomorrow with a consignment of work for a group show there. That starts late July and runs for a month. Will post update shortly.
A painting I've entered into the Threadneedle prize has been preselected   Hand in for the next round to decide who shows at the end of the month.
Several paintings have sold and commissions are under way. Sales include 'The Crossing', 'non-swimmer', 'Spharistike' and 'Sweet Melinda'.
More news soon.

Last night saw the private view at the Sanctuary Gallery in Northampton of their annual open 20 x 20. Three pieces were selected.
Some nice work by Helen Jarvis and DELMONTE also included. Runs for a month.

Open Studios

If you didn't get a chance to visit me in the studio last weekend then you get another chance this weekend.

And if you can't do that well take a look at the pictures below.

May news

Unfortunately I didn't quite make the final cut for the John Moore's. However I did enjoy my trip to Liverpool to collect the painting where I had a good chat with curator of the show as well as getting to see the exhibition of previous winners. Some big names amongst them.

In June I'll be showing at the Sanctuary Gallery 20 x 20 Open. Three works were accepted for this and for all three the first time they've been shown. I'll add dates and info for this show soon. If you live in the Northampton area then this is the one for you.

Also in June I'll be doing Open Studios. Weekends 7/8 and 14/15 from 11-5. If you can make it there's a lot of new work to see. I'm sure there'll be a bottle of wine open just for you.

March news

All a little quiet here with no immediate exhibitions in sight. There's a solo show lined up for later in the year, perhaps September, but all will be revealed in due course. In the meantime I've been pressing on with a new body of work - essentially rolling on from the cancelled exhibition in December. In addition I've been trying to push my collages to form a more solid direction. Some results below.

New Work

I've been busy updating the website with the addition of 5 new paintings and 7 new collages. I'll be adding even more soon - essentially all the new work that was being made for the now cancelled show.
